Data scientist with experience in energy trading, energy storage, wind farm development as well as energy usage in our built environment, I've had the opportunity to develop a holistic understanding of energy systems. From upstream development to the downstream optimisation, I've witnessed the rapid transition of the UK energy system since I started my career in 2017. Throughout this time, I gained a particular interest into the application of data-driven techniques within the energy industry, recognising it's potential to not only further innovate and disrupt traditional practices but it's importance to progressively upholding each aspect of the energy trilemma whilst the governing centralised architecture of world’s grids move to become more distributed, decentralised networks. As the advent of Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning algorithms begin to become more common place within the industry, it’s hoped that this blog will help to provide commentary and practical narration of their influence on markets, technology and policy of energy and climate change.
